We have been working with Socitm, the organisation for IT professionals working in local government, and are a part of their latest report which aims to improve standards in public sector websites.

Congratulations to Socitm, the organisation for IT professionals working in local government, who have published their 15th "Better Connected" report this morning.

We have been working with Socitm for more than a decade, and contribute technical analysis of the websites of the 433 UK local authorities covered in the "Better Connected" survey each year.

This year our platform partner Cookie Reports was selected to provide the review of the cookies of each site surveyed, the first survey into use of cookies by council websites.

We spoke about our long relationship with Socitm to Martin Greenwood, their Insight Programme Manager and his comments will be appearing on the blog soon.

Better Connected 2013 is available on Socitm's site now for registered users from subscribing organisations. The press release around the survey can be viewed there also.

Sitemorse's latest Index of the UK local government sector will be published on 6 March. Our benchmark survey will look at the performance of more than 400 local authority websites across key criteria including function, code quality, and accessibility.
