Digital designer

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and creative professional to be involved with all aspects of design and creativity at Sitemorse.

The right candidate will have:

  • a portfolio of graphic work covering web, print and digital media,
  • confidence to challenge and expand the brief,
  • attention to detail,
  • ability to deliver original and professional designs,
  • experience with Adobe Photoshop,
  • flexibility to quickly create mock-ups and wire-frames,
  • experience in creating responsive and valid HTML/XHTML and CSS,
  • working knowledge of jQuery and JavaScript in general,
  • ability to hand-craft HTML/CSS without an IDE.

Bonus experience, but not essential:

  • Experience with InDesign and Illustrator,
  • working on a Unix-like command line operating system,
  • knowledge of accessibility and WCAG guidelines,
  • advanced knowledge of jQuery.

This role will integrate and work alongside our in-house team of developers and may extend to technical documentation and handling support for our clients.

An excellent level of written and spoken English is necessary, as is an organised approach to note taking and design. The job is home based although you may be required to attend occasional meetings in Central London.

Technical developer — salary subject to experience

Job Description

We are looking for a software programmer to join a small team developing our flagship product, the Sitemorse web site testing software.

This role is primarily back end software development in the development languages Python and JavaScript, prior knowledge of Python is a bonus but not essential.

The right candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of web protocols and standards,
  • Proven experience in producing quality software in the Internet environment,
  • Experience working on a Unix-like command line operating system,
  • A solid understanding of HTML/XHTML, CSS, SQL and object-oriented programming,
  • Familiarity with text editors and developing without an IDE,
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

In addition to development, the role includes handling support for our clients, technical documentation and liaising with internal colleagues.

The following skills will be necessary:

  • An excellent level of written and spoken English,
  • An organised approach to note taking and development,
  • A positive attitude to working from home,
  • Keen to expand development skills and problem solving.

The job is home based although you will be required to attend occasional meetings in Central London.
